With Bitcoin perking up, some cryptocurrency and altcoin investors may embrace the familiar. That’s a practical way of approaching this asset class and there’s nothing wrong with that perspective per se, but it risks missing out on opportunities with altcoins.

Indeed, Bitcoin dominance often signals that crypto market participants, broadly speaking, are taking their eyes of altcoins. However, that scenario can be an invitation to get involved with some smaller digital currencies. That objective is easy to accomplish with the help of the (DIME).

DIME, which debuted last October, is potentially appealing to intrepid cryptocurrency investors for multiple reasons, including its status as an actively managed ETF. Second, DIME provides exposure to a basket of higher tier altcoins, meaning investors don’t have to sift a universe of thousands of altcoins to find quality opportunities.

Even when stripping out Bitcoin and various stablecoins, the cryptocurrency universe is populated by more than 8,400 tokens or altcoins. That’s an expansive space and a potential minefield for new investors. Said another way, even experienced crypto investors can stumble upon flimsy altcoins. DIME reduces the odds of that happening by focusing on quality altcoins.

Take the case of Sui, a tech-heavy altcoin viewed by some altcoin experts as possessing significant growth potential. A top 10 holding in DIME, Sui is gaining more attention in altcoin circles, particularly because Sui will soon an event at which some market observers believe partnerships and technological updates could be revealed.

“Sui is now live on Solana. More liquidity and more users. Sui is pushing into stablecoins and payments. Everything is moving at once,” reported AltcoinBuzz. “Because it has speed, growth, and strong momentum. It sits right at the center of DeFi, Bitcoin, and AI. But yes, there are risks. It’s newer than most blue chip projects and unlocks can affect the price. Plus, the competition is brutal.”

The risks associated with Sui, or any other upper-tier altcoin for that matter, underscore the value of DIME’s methodology. By leveraging active management for altcoin breadth, DIME reduces some of the risk associated with this asset while diversifying its bets in a space where that approach is warranted.

DIME’s emphasis on quality is also pertinent at a time when cryptocurrency market participants are increasingly focused on assets outside of Bitcoin that have real futures with real utility. Memecoins aren’t the flavor of the day anymore and that could work in DIME’s favor.
