Manchester United could be the more likely destination for one Real Madrid player this summer despite links with Chelsea.

United and Chelsea faced off on Saturday, with the former winning the match 1-0.

Next season, one Real Madrid midfielder could get to feature in that Premier League fixture based on speculation.

Chelsea behind Manchester United in race for Eduardo Camavinga

Last month, it was reported that Chelsea are in the race for Eduardo Camavinga, but they do not appear to be the frontrunners for his signature.

According to CaughtOffside, the Blues’ interest is not as serious as United’s. Arsenal’s interest in the 23-year-old is also believed to be more firm.

It is thought that Real Madrid will demand £52m for their midfielder, who was recently sent off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Chelsea’s interest in Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson appears to be much stronger.

It has been claimed that Chelsea want to sign Scott irrespective of what happens to Enzo Fernandez, who could join Real Madrid this summer.

Why Eduardo Camavinga would pick Manchester United over Chelsea

Even if Chelsea’s interest becomes more serious, you would not back them to win any transfer battle against United.

Firstly, while United are set to return to the Champions League next season, it is quite likely that Chelsea will not be in it. It has already been reported that Champions League football will be essential to signing Camavinga this summer.

As well as that, Chelsea’s strict wage structure could make it difficult to agree a contract with the France international.

Everything is pointing towards Camavinga joining United or Arsenal over Chelsea. Someone like Scott seems like a more realistic option for the Blues right now, but whether the Bournemouth man would actually improve them is up for debate.

He is another young midfielder, whereas Camavinga is very experienced despite still being 23.
