Kate Middleton confirmed to attend first event after surgery as Prince Harry accused of throwing family under bus – Royal family latest

King Charles holds face-to-face audience with Chancellor before Budget

Kate Middleton will attend a Trooping the Colour on 8 June, her first official royal duty since she underwent abdominal surgery, the Ministry of Defence has announced.

The news came as the Princess of Wales was pictured being driven by her mother near Windsor, according to gossip site TMZ.

The photograph shows the royal sporting sunglasses and sitting in the passenger seat beside her mother Carole Middleton in a black Audi 4×4.

It came as King Charles was spotted arriving home to the royal residence Clarence House as his treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer continues.

Meanwhile, as he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, Kate’s uncle accused Prince Harry of throwing the royal family under the bus.

Gary Goldsmith, who is the younger brother of the Princess’ mother Carole, made his much-anticipated debut on the revived ITV reality show.

But before entering the house, the 58-year-old businessman told The Sun: “I’ve got pretty miffed when they had a pop at my beautiful niece who couldn’t say anything for herself.”

He added he was incensed that Kate was dragged into claims of racism within the royal family.

Kate Middleton to make first public appearance since surgery

The Princess of Wales will attend a Trooping the Colour on June 8, her first official duty to be confirmed since she underwent surgery on January 16, the Ministry of Defence has said.

Kate, as Colonel of the Irish Guards, will carry out the inspection of the dress rehearsal, ahead of the main event on June 15.

Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial event performed every year on Horse Guards Parade by regiments of Household Division, to celebrate the official birthday of the British sovereign.

Taking part will be over 1,400 soldiers of the Household Division and The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, including 400 musicians from the Massed Bands, all of whom will parade on Horse Guards for the second of two formal Reviews.

Seated tickets cost £15 and £5 for standing.

It came as Kensington Palace said no updates would be given on Kate’s health, only saying her surgery was “non cancerous”.

Kensington Palace not consulted before MoD confirmed Kate’s first public appearance

Kensington Palace was not consulted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) before it announced the Princess of Wales’ attendance at Trooping the Colour, it is understood.

The MoD said on Tuesday that Kate Middleton will be attending the ceremony on 8 June in what would be her first official royal duty since she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

However, royal sources told The Independent that the Palace, which is responsible for confirming Kate’s attendance at all events, has not yet confirmed whether she will be attending the engagement.

They added that the MoD announced the Princess’ attendance at the ceremony without first consulting the Palace.

Kate Middleton’s uncle accuses Prince Harry of throwing royal family ‘under the bus’

Kate Middleton’s uncle has accused Prince Harry of throwing the royal family “under the bus” and said claims of racism against his niece were “bull****.”

Accusing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of “reinventing history”, Gary Goldsmith said: “My family is not racist and for Kate to be portrayed as that is just so far removed from the truth, it’s ridiculous.”

The publication of Harry’s memoir Spare caused a wave of damaging global headlines for the royal family last year as the duke revealed intimate details of his relationships with his father King Charles and brother Prince William.
