The head of the World Bank’s investment guarantee agency has warned that it may have to pay out claims for losses if the war in the Middle East drags on and damages mount.

“As the conflict gets longer and impacts get larger, we eventually may have to pay some [claims],” Tsutomu Yamamoto, managing director of the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, told The Banker.
