Semafor’s World Economy Summit 2024

We’ve opened registration for our boldest venture in live journalism yet.

Each spring, the biggest power brokers in the global economy come together to tackle central issues facing the world at the meetings of the IMF and World Bank. Of course, there’s traditional news coverage of what happens inside of these elite conclaves, but here at Semafor, we’re going one step further.

Today, we’ve opened registration for the 2024 World Economy Summit — our boldest venture in live journalism yet and the only major media event to be held against the backdrop of the IMF and World Bank meetings, taking place in Washington, D.C. on April 17-18.

Last year, Semafor drove global headlines with our inaugural summit – this year, we’re going even bigger and we’re thrilled to unveil our speaker line-up featuring 100 global leaders on the record, including:

Brian Moynihan, CEO, Bank of America; José Muñoz, President & COO, Hyundai Motor Company; Henry M. Paulson, Jr., Former United States Secretary of the Treasury; Xavier Becerra, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services; Suzanne Clark, President & CEO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce; John Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Jared Bernstein, Chair, White House Council of Economic Advisors; Hans Vestberg, Chairman & CEO, Verizon; Richard Lesser, Global Chair, BCG; Sim Tshabalala, CEO, Standard Bank; Gretchen Watkins, President, Shell USA; Pat Gelsinger, CEO, Intel; Sen. Ron Wyden, (D) Oregon, and more.

With founding partners BCG, Verizon, Amazon, Bank of America, and Hyundai Motor Company, along with presenting partner IBM, the 2024 World Economy Summit will be an unmissable tour de force of the biggest issues facing today’s global economic landscape from fracturing trade relations to the threats and opportunities presented by AI.

Former U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Carlyle Group Co-Founder David Rubenstein will co-chair the event and act as key advisors to the program. The summit, hosted by Semafor’s editors, will take place over two days at Gallup’s Great Hall and The Mellon Auditorium.

We can’t wait to see you there.
