What the numbers mean for brokers

Jemma Wood (pictured above), director of portfolio, asset and risk at Hope Capital Property Finance, said the firm’s relationship with borrowers does not end at completion.

‘From the outset, every borrower and broker is allocated a dedicated point of contact,’ Wood said. ‘They have someone they know they can simply pick up the phone to throughout the life of the facility.’

Wood added that staying close to borrowers has produced a commercial outcome. ‘We are seeing an increasing number of borrowers and brokers return to us for repeat deals, which is a strong endorsement of the service and relationships we have built.’

Where a borrower runs into trouble, a separate resolutions team engages directly. The team works with borrowers and brokers on delayed sales, planning complications or stalled exit strategies.

Kate Cowan, chief financial and operating officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, said the practical details matter.
