Four-star point guard Micah Gordon has scheduled an official visit with Tennessee basketball from Sept. 4-6, The Athletic’s Tobias Bass first reported and a source confirmed to RTI on Thursday.
Gordon’s early September trip to Tennessee is one of eight that he has reportedly scheduled for this fall. That run of visits will begin this weekend against VCU but also includes Creighton, Auburn, West Virginia, UConn, UCLA and Providence.
The 5-foot-10 point guard ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 35 player in the country according to the 247sports rankings. A New Jersey native, Gordon ranks as the No. 7 point guard in the 2027 recruiting class. Rivals ranks Gordon as a four-star, the No. 31 player and the No. 9 point guard in the 2027 class.
After playing his first three high school seasons at Plainfield High School in his New Jersey hometown, Gordon is transferring to Spire Academy in Ohio for his senior season.

Tennessee has not landed a commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle to date but has begun lining up official visits with a number of recruits this fall.
Gordon is the second four-star point guard to schedule an official visit with Tennessee in the coming months. Massachusetts native Antonio Pemberton is officially visiting Tennessee this weekend as he kicks off a fall run of official visits.
The Vols are casting a wide net at point guard in the 2027 recruiting cycle and are targeting multiple of the best point guards in the cycle.
Four-star shooting guard Justin Wise and four-star center Chris Brown have scheduled official visits for Sept. 19 weekend, the same one Tennessee football hosts Kennesaw State. Five-star wing Malachi Jordan and three-star forward Davis Cochran are officially visiting Tennessee the weekend that the Vol football team hosts Texas at Neyland Stadium.
The Vols have just two players on their roster for this upcoming season that are definitively out of eligibility so they will have at least two scholarships available. However, that number will almost certainly increase with potential NBA Draft prospects and other players potentially entering the transfer portal.
