The signing of the ministerial decision to extend the two new collective labor agreements to the food and confectionery industries marks one of the most significant interventions in the labor market in recent years.
Now, more than 400,000 employees are expected to see improvements in their salaries and terms of employment.
By decision of Labor and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameus, the two contracts are extended to all businesses in the respective sectors, activating in practice the new framework of the National Social Agreement, which seeks to increase the coverage of employees by collective agreements.
