- Partnership integrates driver screening and compliance monitoring into TransportGPT platform

VelocityAI Data Tech Sdn Bhd, a venture company of Asia Mobiliti that provides a transport operating system for hauling and trucking services, has announced a strategic partnership with Venovox Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading background screening and verification specialists, to provide comprehensive driver and logistics personnel screening services through its flagship TransportGPT platform.
The collaboration aims to strengthen road safety, workforce integrity and operational governance in the country’s growing transport and logistics sector. By integrating professional background screening into the driver onboarding process, fleet operators will be better equipped to identify potential risks before they affect operations, customers or public safety.
As fleet operators face increasing expectations from regulators, insurers and corporate customers, workforce due diligence is becoming a critical component of fleet management. While technology has improved vehicle visibility and operational monitoring, organisations are increasingly recognising the importance of ensuring drivers and logistics personnel meet appropriate standards of integrity, compliance and professionalism.
Through the partnership, clients using VelocityAI’s TransportGPT platform can access structured background screening services powered by Venovox as part of their recruitment and workforce management processes, alongside a consolidated view of driver screening, licence verification, compliance monitoring and safety performance indicators.
Keith Vaz, CEO of VelocityAI Data Tech, said technology alone cannot address road safety challenges.
“Technology can help operators manage vehicles more efficiently, but road safety ultimately begins with the people behind the wheel. As fleet operators face mounting cost pressures, having confidence in the people they hire has become just as important as having visibility over the vehicles they manage. By partnering with Venovox, we are adding another critical layer of trust, compliance and accountability to our TransportGPT platform,” he said.
The screening services include traffic and driving offence checks, criminal record screening, employment history and credential verification, and periodic re-screening programmes designed to help organisations identify emerging risks and maintain compliance throughout employment.
The service is designed to integrate seamlessly into TransportGPT, providing timely and actionable information without creating unnecessary delays in the hiring process.
The partnership represents another step in VelocityAI’s vision of building a comprehensive fleet intelligence platform that extends beyond telematics and vehicle condition monitoring. By combining operational analytics, artificial intelligence, compliance tools and workforce intelligence, the company aims to provide fleet operators with a more holistic approach to risk management and operational excellence.
Sharmila Gunasekaran, CEO of Venovox, said workforce integrity is becoming increasingly important for business resilience and public trust.
“Background screening is no longer reserved for large corporations — it is becoming an essential component of responsible workforce management. Our collaboration with VelocityAI enables fleet operators to make informed hiring decisions based on verified information rather than assumptions. Together, we are helping organisations strengthen governance, mitigate risk and create safer environments for employees, customers and the public,” she said.
For fleet operators, logistics providers and corporate mobility managers seeking to strengthen driver onboarding and workforce compliance programmes, the integrated capabilities of TransportGPT and Venovox provide a streamlined approach to managing workforce-related risks from day one.
VelocityAI Data Tech is executing a phased expansion across Southeast Asia. With TransportGPT now live in Malaysia, the company is targeting 2,000 connected vehicles across Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia by 2028, while expanding into cold chain, last-mile delivery and utilities alongside its core logistics customer base.
By 2032, VelocityAI Data Tech aims to become Southeast Asia’s leading fleet intelligence platform, serving 500,000 connected vehicles across the region and positioning TransportGPT as a compliance and ESG reporting standard for commercial fleets across Asean.
