DIMAPUR — The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Longleng, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Longleng, conducted a series of district-level training programmes and farm exposure visits across various villages in the Longleng district from April 13 to the 24th.
According to an update, the initiatives were held under the leadership of Deputy Project Director H Mhonthung Merry, alongside Senior Scientist and Head Dr. Hari Charan Kalita, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), and Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy).
The programmes covered important horticultural crops such as kiwi, orange, and a range of vegetable crops, along with an organic fertiliser campaign promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
In addition, state-level farmers’ training programmes on mushroom cultivation were conducted. Farmers were also trained and exposed to tissue culture banana nurseries at the State Horticulture Nursery in the Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts.

Furthermore, farmer-scientist interaction programmes were organised across several villages in the Longleng district.
These initiatives aimed to strengthen the linkage between farmers and scientists, promote the exchange of innovative agricultural practices, and encourage the adoption of improved and sustainable farming technologies.
