Ashurst ADTLaw, the Singapore arm of the global law firm, has advised CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust (CICT) on its SGD3.9 billion (USD3 billion) acquisition of Paragon, a freehold integrated development located along Orchard Road.
The transaction was led by Tao Koon Chiam, a director at Ashurst ADTLaw and head of M&A for Southeast Asia, together with Yi Ming Choo, director and head of real estate investments for Asia.
The firm provided comprehensive legal and regulatory support, with its team also comprising lawyers across real estate, corporate transactions, competition, IP, global loans, employment and Ashurst Advance, the firm’s NewLaw division that delivers technology-led legal solutions.
The acquisition of Paragon, which comprises a retail podium, medical suites and office towers, adds to CICT’s reputation as the largest real estate investment trust in Singapore.
