The developer behind proposals for the scheme formerly known as Tribeca has announced an information event about a “co-living” space.
Castlebrooke Investments said the event will provide more information about an Academy Street scheme for up to 150 co-living homes in a building of up to 15 storeys, with the ground floor used for commercial space.

The drop-in event will take place on August 26 at the Mac in Belfast from 3pm to 7pm.
“Co-living” entails private living space for residents but shared facilities such as lounges and workspaces, which, Castlebrooke said, “encourage a strong sense of community”.
The project forms part of Castlebrooke’s wider proposals for a new residential area in six acres of central Belfast, between North Street and Donegall Street, bordering Royal Avenue and including Writer’s Square.
The proposals include around 1,000 new homes, social and affordable accommodation, two four-star hotels, and up to 100,000 sq ft of mixed-use space, with shops, restaurants, cafés and services.
Gerry Hughes, who leads the professional team designing the North Street and Donegall Street scheme, said: “We’re pleased to have the opportunity to run an additional event focused on Academy Street as part of our consultation process.
“Co-living is a relatively new concept for Belfast, so we feel it’s important to give people the chance to find out more about this key element of the wider scheme.
“Belfast needs more homes for people at different stages of life, with different needs. We believe this area is the right place for a new neighbourhood and community, close to jobs, education, culture, transport, and the life of the city centre.”
Information on the event is also available on the consultation website, which includes an online feedback form that will be live between August 26 and September 25, Castlebrooke said.
