The Lewis County Board of Health (BOH) is accepting applications from Lewis County residents interested in serving on the Public Health and Social Services (PHSS) Advisory Board.
The PHSS advisory board advises the BOH on matters related to public health, environmental health and social services. Advisory board members provide community perspective, professional knowledge and lived experience to help inform local programs, policies and services, according to a news release from the county.
The BOH is currently seeking an applicant to fill the environmental health seat. This position is intended to provide perspective on issues related to the natural and built environments and their connection to community health.
Any Lewis County resident with an interest in public health and environmental health is encouraged to apply. The appointment will fill an existing vacancy for a term ending Dec. 31. The member may be eligible for reappointment by the BOH following completion of the current term.
The PHSS Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners’ hearing room at the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 NW North St. in Chehalis. A virtual attendance option is also available.
Applications must be received by 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. Applications are available at https://tinyurl.com/h3v7jtpf. Completed applications may be submitted by email to BOH@lewiscountywa.gov.
Applications will be presented to the BOH for consideration at its Oct. 12 meeting.
