Australian private credit funds delivered triple the returns of ultra-safe government bonds over the past year, delivering a windfall for investors despite growing unease about the health and transparency of loans.
Returns in Australia’s listed and unlisted private debt funds averaged returns of 5.6 per cent in the 12 months to June 30, according to Morningstar analysts, while those managed by Pengana, Mosaic and Metrics Credit Partners delivered more than 10 per cent after fees in that period.
