LONDON, June ​24 (Reuters) – ⁠UN Secretary ​General Antonio
Guterres on Wednesday ​called ‌for a ⁠new approach to ⁠climate
adaptation, including ​taxing windfall profits from fossil fuel
companies ​to ‌help pay for it.
Multi-lateral development bank ​shareholders must also ‌give
lenders “far greater firepower” to respond ‌to the challenges
posed by extreme weather events, ​including giving them more
capital ‌to help fund projects that ⁠can ⁠build resilience,
Guterres ‌told the London Climate ​Action ​Week ‌event.
