Uzbekistan and International Monetary Fund discuss improving fiscal management

AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held talks with Senior Economist at the Public Finance Management Division of the International Monetary Fund’s Fiscal Affairs Department Amanda Sayegh, UzA reported.

The discussion focused on reforms to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IMF, particularly to improve fiscal policy and public financial management. The participants exchanged views on current initiatives in these areas and identified key priority tasks.

They highlighted the importance of quickly identifying and assessing fiscal risks that might affect public financial stability. The focus was on establishing regular risk monitoring, evaluating potential impacts, and improving management systems.

The sides discussed budget revenue and expenditure planning, developing forecast indicators, and using budget funds effectively. They shared perspectives on improving the quality of financial planning and managing budget resources more effectively.

Following the meeting, the parties decided to maintain regular communication and share their experiences in fiscal management and public finance.
