Tees Valley Combined Authority is recruiting for eight positions in its growing finance team.

The new recruits will support the TVCA’s work to improve people’s lives through devolved powers, responsibilities and funding and cement the region’s potential for global investment.

TVCA is driving regeneration in areas such as business support, inward investment, education, employment and skills, transport and infrastructure, creative place, net zero, research and development – all overseen by a skilled finance team.

The team also assists South Tees Development Corporation – responsible for the regeneration of Teesworks, the UK’s largest industrial zone and the heart of the Teesside Freeport – and Hartlepool and Middlesbrough Mayoral Development Corporations in their work.

The roles are:

– Head of financial management.

– Head of financial accounting.

– Financial accounting manager.

– Senior finance business partner.

– Two finance business partners.

– Two financial accountants.

The roles provide opportunities to support major projects across the Tees Valley such as the development of Middlesbrough railway station and the expansion of Hartlepool’s TV and film production industries.

Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen said: “There’s never been a better time to get involved in all we’re doing across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool. We’ve just signed off a new 10-year Local Growth Plan – a strategy that will help supercharge our industries, grow businesses and improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

“We’re also set to secure exciting new devolved powers, bringing even more funding and fiscal responsibilities to our area, and we need incredible talent to manage this critical change.

“Those elements combined mean that successful candidates will be at the forefront of a wholly new direction of travel for the Combined Authority and the region as a whole.”

The recruitment follows the recent appointment of a new director of legal and governance at the combined authority, further strengthening the organisation’s senior leadership team. Andrew Perriman will join the team over the coming weeks and his appointment supports delivery of TVCA’s improvement plan.

TVCA chief executive, Tom Bryant, said: “We’re a great place to work, and only getting better as we drive real change throughout our organisation.

“The backbone of this will be a dynamic, proactive and knowledgeable Finance Team, ready to deliver brilliant work in a fast-paced and hugely varied environment. If you think you fit the bill, we’d love to hear from you.”
