The midfielder hasn’t seen any action this campaign after also being frozen out for much of last season, especially towards the end of the season under current boss Martin O’Neill.
Hatate would like to move on for a fresh challenge and more first-team football. The Greek giants are aware of that and are considering offering him that, according to the Daily Record.
Despite being out of the first-team picture, it’s thought it would still take a decent seven-figure fee to land the 28-year-old, given he still has two years on his contract.
Panathinaikos had a disappointing campaign last season and boss Jacob Neestrup is looking to reshape his squad, and would reportedly be able to offer Hatate an increase on his Parkhead wages.
There is also interest in the player from elsewhere in Europe and in the Middle East.
