Bitcoin holders are increasingly seeking ways to generate returns without selling their BTC, and crypto exchanges are responding with institutional-style yield products.
Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has reported a sharp increase in institutional and high-net-worth interest in its specialized Bitcoin yield products.

The exchange’s Private Wealth Management (PWM) division said its Bitcoin yield funds generated a comprehensive annualized return of approximately 4.9% over the past 60 days.
Additionally, select individual funds delivered 30-day annualized returns exceeding 40%, as the exchange continues expanding its Bitcoin yield offerings for high-net-worth clients.
Bybit Expands Its Bitcoin Wealth Offering
Launched in September 2025, Bybit’s Private Wealth Management (PWM) service now oversees more than $239 million across over 160 portfolios.
The platform is designed for larger BTC holders, with a minimum entry requirement of 10 BTC, valued at roughly $628,000 at current prices, while also offering certain USDT-based investment options.
Bybit also provides additional BTC yield products, including on-chain staking solutions and structured products such as Dual Asset and Discount Buy.
Jerry Li, Head of Earn and Wealth Management at Bybit, said Bitcoin’s performance below previous highs in the first half of 2026 has prompted holders to reconsider how they manage their positions during periods of volatility.
“Even for BTC faithfuls, the central question is often not whether to sell BTC for short-term liquidity, but how to keep BTC working while remaining exposed to the asset itself,” Li stated.
The Expanding Market for BTC Yield Products
The development highlights a changing strategy among crypto “whales” and institutional investors navigating a volatile 2026 market.
Bitcoin yield products have become an increasingly prominent segment across centralized exchanges and asset-manager platforms as investors look for alternatives to selling BTC during periods of limited price momentum.
Binance launched its BTC Yield covered-call income product in July, following broader institutional interest in Bitcoin income strategies. BlackRock also introduced the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BITA) in June, while other crypto platforms have continued expanding Bitcoin-focused yield offerings.
Bitcoin is currently trading around $62,800, remaining well below its previous highs after a difficult first half of the year.
Why This Matters
Bybit’s expansion of BTC-denominated yield products signals growing demand among large holders seeking to generate returns while maintaining exposure to Bitcoin during a market downturn.
The trend also reflects a broader shift among crypto exchanges toward institutional wealth management, positioning yield products and structured strategies as a competitive growth area beyond traditional spot trading.
