Earlybirds (the rural charity Preschool on the site of Newtown Soberton Infant School) is very excited to share that our application to the Tesco Grants Programme has been successful, and our breakfast club project has been put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores (via the blue token charity boxes).

We would really love your support to help our small setting provide a healthy breakfast and enriching activities to our young learners, helping them to grow, explore, and thrive – we would be so incredibly grateful. The resources and activities purchased with the grant will benefit all of our children.

Voting is already underway, and will continue until 31 July 2026 in the following stores:

·       Portchester Express: PO16 9UZ

·       Fareham Superstore: PO16 0LE

The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive £1500, second place £1000 and third place £500.

To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction (we’ve found you’ll sometimes need to ask staff if they don’t give you a token, or find the tokens in a pot next to the self-service checkouts, or next to the voting boxes themselves!).

Earlybirds is proud of its ‘good’ Ofsted rating, offering curiosity and exploration with a sprinkle of magic! There are a few spaces left for September, and all funding is accepted (including using funded hours for our wraparound sessions, 7.30am until 5pm). The team is holding Open Days for prospective families on the following dates:

·       Saturday 27 June – 9-11am

·       Friday 10 July – 4-6pm
