VIDEO: In the face of U.S. pressure, the country of Cuba has decided to shake things up since its revolution in the 1960’s. Cuba’s Communist party has approved an emergency economic package featuring unprecedented free-market measures to help with its struggling economy. The measures intend to entice more opportunities for private enterprise, greater autonomy for municipalities and measures to attract additional foreign investment. This while Cuban citizens continue to grapple with poor economic conditions and an energy crisis. The announcement comes after months of pressure, sanctions and serious talks with the Trump administration.
